Red Rooster Harlem is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Steward to oversee and manage the overnight cleaning crew.
This is a full-time opportunity in the heart of New York City for someone with leadership skills and expertise in large, high-volume commercial kitchens.
Position Overview
The Head Steward will ensure that the cleaning crew performs their duties efficiently, adhering to company standards. This role involves supervision, training, inventory management, and active participation in cleaning tasks as needed. Candidates must be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and skilled at leading a team in a fast-paced setting.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Head Steward is responsible for supervising the overnight cleaning crew to ensure all areas of the restaurant are spotless and up to company standards. You’ll train team members on proper cleaning methods and safety procedures, manage and restock cleaning supplies, and communicate performance updates to management. Additionally, you’ll assist with cleaning tasks when necessary, maintaining a safe and organized work environment throughout.
Requirements
To qualify, you need experience in a supervisory role within a high-volume restaurant, strong leadership and communication skills, and attention to detail. Physical stamina is essential, as the role requires standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Flexibility to work overnight shifts and weekends is also a must.
Compensation
Hourly pay with opportunities for overtime.
