The Human Rights Officer role within the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is based in Geneva, reporting to the Chief of the Justice Protection and Social Rights Unit. The incumbent will focus on coordinating and supporting the Working Group on the rights of peasants and other rural workers, ensuring that human rights issues affecting these populations are addressed. This involves engaging with multiple stakeholders, preparing reports, organizing country visits, and making recommendations on improving the human rights situation for these groups.
Key Responsibilities:
– Plan, coordinate, and evaluate activities related to Special Procedures of the Human Rights Council.
– Support the Working Group on the rights of peasants, including preparing communications, reports, and public materials.

Qualifications:
– Master’s degree in law, international relations, political science, or a related field.
– Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in human rights, political affairs, or international law.
