The Principal Position is for a skilled teacher with years of experience and excellent leadership and managerial skills. ICA Cristo Rey seeks a mission-driven, innovative, collaborative, student-focused, and community-centered Principal to serve as the chief academic, instructional, and formational leader of its learning community. The Principal reports directly to the school’s President and plays a pivotal role as a critical member of the school’s leadership team.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Catholic Identity and Cristo Rey Mission

The Principal serves as the spiritual leader of the school, ensuring the Catholic charism remains central to school decisions and activities. Faith practice and formation are integral parts of school life, with appropriate allocation of resources to Campus Ministry and Adult Faith Formation. Respect, equity, and compassion for all stakeholders are vital, fostering an inclusive environment that prioritizes confidentiality and support. Collaboration with the school’s leadership team ensures the integration of academics with the Corporate Work Study Program, clear communication of expectations, and participation in Cristo Rey Network professional development and faith formation programs.

As the lead learner, the Principal stays informed about the latest research, practices, and trends in urban education and ensures their application to support student success. Regular classroom observations, feedback, and leadership presence ensure continuous teacher development. The role also involves implementing a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum, fostering a college-going culture, and utilizing data-driven cycles of assessment and intervention to monitor and enhance student progress. Professional development for faculty is planned and executed based on instructional needs, school culture, and student achievement data.

The Principal leads the school community in creating a vision for excellence across academics, school culture, community engagement, alumnae relations, and the Corporate Work Study Program. This vision incorporates the students’ cultural identities and the school’s Catholic identity. Collaboration with stakeholders and the development of a strategic, multi-year plan ensure alignment with the Cristo Rey Network’s resources and the school’s goals. Progress is monitored using metrics, and plans are adjusted to address barriers and meet students’ needs.

  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.
