The R1079 Paralegal Position at Legal and Business Affairs is seeking to employ a personnel to guard their society’s legal interests. The Legal and Business Affairs (LBA) team assists the organization in its business endeavors by providing business advice, support with contract drafting, and support with litigation.
The Paralegal will work to safeguard the Societys legal interests and to use the law to advance the Societys objectives relating to technology, operations, and facilities.
This role reports to VP & Senior Associate General Counsel for Technology, Operations, and Facilities.
Topics within the Paralegals purview will include:

This role will work with internal clients and counsel to draft and review legal documents, conduct research, and manage legal projects. This position also will facilitate continuous improvement of how the Society handles the matters above by suggesting enhancements to, drafting, and updating the Society’s policies and procedures.
Your Impact
Your Impact Responsibilities Include:
Contract Drafting and Review. Draft contracts based upon approved template forms, provide a first review of third-party agreements and non-standard agreements, and work with supervising attorneys on further negotiations. (50%)

Legal Project and Contract Management. Manage legal projects; maintain and track contracts; ensure that contracts comply with audit guidelines and the Societys records management policy. (30%)

What Youll Bring
Educational Background
BA degree or paralegal certificate from an accredited program required.
Minimum Years and Type of Experience
4+ years of corporate paralegal or contract specialist experience required.
Necessary Knowledge and Skills
Sustained experience in legal contract drafting;
High-level familiarity with business technology (e.g., CRM, ERP, databases, etc.) and internet technologies (e.g., the basics of internet protocols, SaaS/IaaS/cloud models, social media and direct marketing technologies, etc.);
Advanced skills in the Google Workspace suite and the Microsoft Office suite;
Legal research skills;
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work well with others and interact directly with clients in a deadline driven environment.
