The Virtual Therapist Job is a full-time remote Therapist job with attractive salary. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Virtual Therapist to join our team. Under the guidance of the Executive Clinical Director, the therapist will play a key role in providing virtual therapy sessions, conducting biopsychosocial assessments, developing treatment plans, and facilitating both individual and group sessions for clients.

This role is designed for licensed professionals with experience in substance abuse and mental health therapy.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the daily treatment experience of assigned clients, ensuring their needs are met through virtual sessions. Complete and maintain all required documentation within specified timelines. Conduct initial and ongoing client assessments, including biopsychosocial assessments and mental status examinations. Develop personalized treatment plans based on each client’s unique needs, history, and symptoms. Provide individual, couple/family, and group therapy sessions as required, creating a supportive and nonjudgmental environment.

Demonstrate respect for cultural and lifestyle differences among clients and staff. Provide crisis intervention services, including determining 5150 needs when necessary. Stay informed on the latest legal and ethical standards in clinical practice, including professional boundaries and reporting requirements. Incorporate knowledge of the 12-step model of recovery (e.g., AA, NA, CA, Alanon) in treatment approaches.

Documentation and Reporting Requirements

Complete initial treatment plans and treatment plan updates within the required timelines. Ensure biopsychosocial assessments are conducted and signed within the specified deadlines. Ensure all client notes are logged within 24 hours, including any updates on missed sessions. Lead group therapy sessions and document notes within 24 hours. Establish and maintain regular contact with client referents, ensuring communication within 48 hours of assignment and weekly updates thereafter.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old. Master’s or Doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field. Licensed as an LMFT, LCSW, LCDC, or LPC, or as a Licensed Psychologist or Psychological Assistant. At least two years of experience in mental health and/or substance abuse treatment, with supervisory experience preferred. Clearance of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening. Health screening required. Basic computer skills for documentation and word processing.

Vision, hearing, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination sufficient for job tasks, including sitting at a desk, using a keyboard, and performing other duties. Ability to move within the facility to observe clients and staff as needed.

Job Specific Responsibilities

The specific duties of this role may vary based on assignment. Full training and orientation will be provided to ensure you are fully equipped for your role.
